Scholarship Divemaster Program - FAQ
Who is this program designed for?
This program is designed for dive centers and resorts looking to train new Divemasters from the ground up while receiving operational support during the training period.
Do candidates need prior diving certification?
No. Candidates start the program with no previous diving certification and are trained progressively until they reach professional Divemaster level. However, at the end of the season, the Divemaster may apply for the Instructor Course in the same location where they trained as a Divemaster. This creates a pathway for professional development and a potential long-term staff member
for your dive center.
How long does the scholarship last?
The initial scholarship period is three months. At the end of this period, the dive center or resort may extend the scholarship if they wish to continue working with the candidate.
What benefits does the dive center or resort receive?
You gain motivated trainees who support daily operations while being trained according to your own standards, procedures, and service philosophy—without the immediate costs of hiring certified professionals.
Can the scholarship be extended or lead to employment?
Yes.
If both parties agree, the scholarship may be extended. However, the Divemaster scholarship officially ends after the initial three-month period, so the funding of the candidate during any additional time must be considered. This additional period may be financed by the candidate’s own funds or with support from the dive center, if such support is agreed upon by both parties.
What kind of tasks do Divemaster candidates perform during the program?
Candidates assist with daily dive operations, logistics, customer support, and training activities, always under professional supervision and in line with their current training level.
Is this program suitable for high-volume dive centers or resorts?
Absolutely. The program is ideal for both high-volume dive centers and resort operations seeking long-term staff development and team continuity.
